I have owned a stillwater16 by old Towne for 3 years.My two boys (13+12 this year)& I have enjoyed it immensely.We have taken it on the larger lakes and smaller ponds.it is very stable and easy to paddle.In fact I am looking for another one for a friend and his family.The ads, I see, have the weight to 59 pounds now. It is adequate for lake canoeing, although there is a learning curve to keep it tracking straight and dry in adverse conditions. Speed is fine with the Old Town kayak paddle, less effective with a canoe paddle and impossible (for me) with a Greenland paddle.The Saranac 146 canoe packs in a ton of features at a great price.
